Front Mission, all the way! I hope they bring us FM: 2089, too, but I won't be holding my breath.

I actually liked Mario Hoops until the computer became impossible to beat...oh, and until the control scheme rendered my left hand an unusable frozen claw for two days...

My favorite DS game from Square Enix is the the only one I own, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. I am currently playing through it, and really enjoy the game world and lighthearted gameplay. Of course, I need another game to play after this one, and Ring of Fates would be a great choice!

I have quite a few SE games for my DS, but I'd have to give the win to Final Fantasy III.
It pushes the hardware to new levels and is one of the few RPGs that challenges the player rather than coddling them.

For myself, I find it difficult to choose any of the new games from Square-Enix, so I will go with Front Mission 1st. At the current time, Square Enix has done good work with keeping Squaresoft-made nostalgic titles with newer, system-focused enhancements, such as touch-control and wi-fi multiplayer abilities. Front Mission has had a slight overhaul, from its' 95 debut, because of the console's stronger graphical output. The original story is intact, the additional story is well-placed, and now the professional localization(which makes sense!), makes this title a tough SRPG contender compared to some of its' DS-only, genre brothers. Namely the anime-heavy Luminous Arc and a formidable opponent, Hoshigami Remix. Front Mission is an enjoyable title for this type of game. My only gripe is the lack of a certain fight that should have happened between the characters that be.
USN FOR LIFE! BURN OCU :P
Still, I did play alot of the SoM-type games, so I would not mind seeing how much stuffing I get out of a Moogle before he attempts to Kupo-Kick me off of his flutterbackside.
