What do you think about walkthroughs, though, and how often do you use them? Only when you're really stuck? Always, to make sure you get every item possible? Or, maybe even never, no matter how long you've been unable to progress?

You used to have to buy a Nintendo Power to find some secrets in games. Varia in Metroid, anyone? Nobody found that without a guide. Nobody.
Like anyone else, I'll take a quick peek at a walkthrough if I get hopelessly stuck, and again after I beat it to see if there were any easter eggs/other things I may have missed.

Some games that are mostly collection-based, i'll buy the guide outright, like the console Zelda games, and all the Metroid games, the main-series Mario games, and Pokemon games
However, for games that are more puzzle based (like Super Paper Mario and Phantom Hourglass) i forgo the guide, because it would take most of the fun out of it, but i hit up GameFaqs every once in a while
Like that Dual Dragon boss in Phantom Hourglass, i needed GameFaqs to tell me you had to draw the rope diagonally to get the fireballs to bounce off and hit the other dragon

I was actually thinking about this today, as i checked GameFAQs for help on my umpteenth visit to the damn Temple of the Ocean King on Phantom Hourglass... Only game I've had to do this for lately, but I simply don't want to have to spend the time dealing with it.

I normally only use walkthroughs if I am stuck on a spot for so long that I am thinking about throwing my DS. However, I will also use walkthroughs after I finish the main game to go back and tie up all the loose ends.
