It looks like Myst isn't the only oldschool PC adventure game to be ported to the DS. According to Mindscape, Syberia is on its way, too. Since it's only a port, it won't contain any new content. Yet, we're glad to know that the game will feature touch-screen functionality, since that's always a plus in adventure titles. You can also expect an improved interface and menu system, to make inventories easier to navigate.
In Syberia, you take control of businesswomen Kate Walker, who's looking for the long-lost heir of a toy-making family. One of Syberia's best aspects, though, is its surreal, steampunk-esque setting, which we hope translates well onto the DS.
The game is scheduled to release in Europe this October, but there's no word yet of a North American localization.

Syberia I and II were both decent and fun point 'n click adventure games for the PC. I assume this game is just a port of the first of the pair?
Regardless, glad to see it get a little more attention with an appearance on the DS.

Wow, Syberia. Perhaps the most beautiful adventure on any platform ever. In my books the second best adventure game after Gabriel Knight 3.
Written by Benoît Sokal. I cannot praise this title enough. If you missed it on PC it's a *must* on DS. If the interface isn't good, it doesn't matter, because of the characters and setting. It's almost an absurd trip, but it's well worth taking.
So I liked it. :)

Syberia seemed like a cool game (my wife completed it on PC), but I HATED how slow the character moved. Say you want to move around the various rooms, you have to wait until she ran or walked across. BIG WASTE OF TIME. I hope the port can make this annoyance go away.

At first, I thought the article was about this game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberia_(video_game)
I'm always getting those two mixed up.
Never got around to playing Syberia, but my father liked it. I did play Cyberia, though, back in the day.

Hmm, I've had the Syberia games sitting on my shelf for years, but I might be more interested in a DS version as long as it doesn't suck like Myst DS.
