Opinions on DS skins are quite evenly divided around these parts, but GelaSkins' latest range may influence a few of you naysayers. Having formerly specialized in producing extra layers for iPods and laptops, the company has turned its attention to Nintendo's ubiquitous handheld, by offering a range of 57 skins featuring prints by a wide array of artists.
The selection on offer is pleasingly diverse, featuring both classic works from the likes of Kandinsky, Hokusai, Escher, and van Gogh, as well as pieces from a number of (largely lesser-known -- well, by us ignoramuses, anyway) modern artists.
If you think any of the nine above are too gaudy for your tastes (though we personally love "Red Robot Leaving The City" by ExplodingDog), then check out our gallery for the full line-up. These aren't cheap at $20 a pop, but they're unquestionably unique, and if you buy three skins, you'll get a fourth free. Any of you anti-skin types converted by these?

I've never really been all that tempted to cover up my DS.... until now.
But then, I looked at the price. Oh well. :(

I had a skin on my old, pink DS phat, mainly on a count of it being pink, but also because the skin looked kinda cool - Kirby on a black background. But, eventually, I removed the skin and drew black lightning in its place.
Most of those designs look a little overbearing. I prefer the Lite's simplicity.

Last time I was at the mall I noticed Hot Topic has some DS skins, and I think the robot one was among them. They're very pretty, but yeah, a little expensive...

It's nice to see some decent artists up there (I always like MARS-1 stuff, cold as it may be, and the Limon one is great), but I would never get over having gaps in the skin where they can't wrap very well.
I'd rather find a replacement shell and paint it myself.

Some of those are fantastic.
Too bad they're $19.99.

Wow, these are great! Thanks for bringing them to my attention. I've never REALLY wanted skins, but now I'm debating whether or not splurge on some for both my DS and my iPod. I mean, flying spaghetti monster! I would like to be touched by his noodley appendage every time I touch my screen.

Pretty awesome, although as an Onyx DSL owner, not too many of these would look that great on it. (The Red Robot one would be great on a light blue one, IMO)
They're really unique and if one looked pretty good on an Onyx model I might buy one. The price tag is one of the reasons I'd hold back though.
Either way, they look great.
