I overheard someone at Target back in February who was trying to buy a birthday gift for a daughter or niece. The clerk told her the pink DS was all over the place at Christmas, but after they couldn't keep them on the shelves, and not because it was the only model, as there were plenty of black, white, and crimsons. Somebody wanted them.

Just looking at the thing I can't tell the difference from the already released pink color without having them side by side. Of all colors though, why this? There are lots of awesome colors released in Japan that would have been better, methinks.

Dropping the GBA slot to make it 5mm slimmer would be a terrible idea. The GBA slot doubles the game library, and who cares about 5mm?

Rabbit is right. GameStop emails did indeed inform stores that they are now taking a $25 deposit for the Metallic Rose systems. Look for the system to be on its way.

I love my pink DS but this one is way too similar. Aren't the only other colors white, black, and red/black?? Although I do prefer this pink to the current one.

I never knew that Metallic Rosa was not available in the US... My DS is in Metallic Rose.
What I can say is that it is much much nicer than the one in pink.
