Turns out, the rumor is true: the Metallic Rose DS Lite will be available for standalone purchase starting later this month. So, for those of you that liked the look of the unit available in the Nintendogs bundle, yet didn't want Nintendo's puppy sim (or that big paw print on the unit), you're in luck.Nintendo comments that you'll soon be seeing commercials for this new DS Lite color soon, stating that as of Monday, May 19th, you'll see celebrities America Ferrera and Carrie Underwood "featured in commercials for the Metallic Rose version of Nintendo DS."
Anybody interested in picking this model up, either for themselves, or as a gift?

Not a pink one, but I am hoping for new colors so that I can upgrade to a Lite from a Phat. I was hoping we'd see those German colors appear by now.

Crap! When I was looking for my DS, this one was available with the paw print, which I didn't want. I wound up with the Crimson. But I really, really wanted this one. :(

I want a new shell, some funky metallic paint, and the guts to re-house my DS.
Though the pink one is pretty sweet. I got the gold Zelda DS just before Xmas, but only because I wanted Zelda and it was the most cost-effective package. Given the choice I'd totally have gotten the pink one.

What's cool about these metallic colours is that they don't attract fingerprints as much as the others.
At some point, I'll get myself the metallic grey (I live in Japan). It looks just like the original DS.
