While we're waiting for Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift to release (very soon), we're pretty much powerless to do much but look at screens and websites. Now, though, we can at least immerse ourselves in some videos of the upcoming game. Unfortunately, most of them are only short (and tiny) clips teasing the battle system, but it's still nice to get a sense of what the gameplay will entail.
Above, the video delves into a part of the story, although put out of context it's not very telling. After the break, you can watch a few forty-second battle clips, showing three different characters using their attacks, skills, or summons.
Donne summons Ifrit
Addam (black mage) using Firaga spell
Adelle attacks and steals from an enemy

I love Fire Emblem (played the two GBA games) and FFTA is my all-time favorite handheld game. There's no guarantee you will like FFTA2, but I think there's a good chance you will.

Not necessarily. I think the better measure to know if you'll enjoy FFTA2 or not (assuming it gets good reviews and such) is how much you enjoy the SRPG genre in generally. If you're a fan of SRPGs, then you should probably just go ahead and try FFTA2.
If you're not really familiar with other SRPGs and go into FFTA2 expecting Fire Emblem, you'll probably hate it. Even though the basic gameplay is the same (grid-based attacking and all that), it's a lot different under the surface. Also (if the first FFT Advance is any indication), the story in the game probably won't be up to par with what you're used to in FE.
If you go into FFTA2 open to the changes and differences, though, you might really enjoy it. So, read up on the gameplay and check out the reviews -- if they're favorable, think about trying it out and broadening your SRPG horizons.
Hope that helps!

I've spent 270 hours into FFTA. The only game times rivaling that for me is the Pokemon series. Take that for what you will.

Probably, although it's a bit easier.

Hi Mr. Khan, I'm a long time Fire Emblem addict, but I could never get into the Tactics Ogre/FF Tactics series (didn't like the all-look-same mercenaries, small maps, not-so-epic feel, slow battle, and get dull after awhile).

Oh boy, this thing can't come out soon enough.
Though I'm puzzled about why Ifrit looks so wimpy compared to the 5-megaton Firaga.

It looks pretty darn cool! I love the effects on the attacks. That Firaga looks pretty explosive. I'm STILL playing FFTA to this day. I think I'll be betting this one too.
