Amazon's "Deal of the Day" this fine Saturday is
Trace Memory, a fun adventure game reminiscent of titles like
Hotel Dusk and
Phoenix Wright. While not as good as the other two (in this blogger's opinion), it's still a good (albeit short) game that's worth its current $8.99 sale price.
The fine folks at Cheap Ass Gamer also noticed some other low-priced DS software at Amazon, if you're looking for filler. These include:
- My Word Coach for $9.99
- Lunar Dragon Song for $9.47
- Dragon Quest Rocket Slime for $14.99
- Magical Starsign for $14.21
- Gunpey for $11.99
- Wario Master of Disguise for $14.21
- Custom Robo Arena for $18.99
- SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters for $14.21
- Mega Man ZX Advent for $18.99
- Sonic Rush Adventure for $21.99
- Dungeon Explorer for $14.21
Those are exactly the kind of games that aren't worth buying at their full price (with perhaps a few exceptions), but are much more tempting when on sale. So, let us know if you see anything here that's worth recommending.

I enjoyed Trace Memory. Short indeed; maybe 5 hours, but good fun.

My World Coach?... Woah! Does that mean it teaches you... everything? From the entire world? That's got to be one big cartridge...
I liked Another Code: Two Memories/ Trace Memory as well, but it's true that it's rather short. And Sonic Rush Adventure was as fun as its predecessor, and surprisingly the "adventure" elements weren't that bad too. Wario: Master of Disguise and Custom Robo Arena aren't as bad as people say either.

I liked it too, but I thought it had FAR more potential than it actually lived up too. Part of the problem was that adventure/puzzle games shouldn't have anywhere near that much hand-holding. Actually, that almost killed the game for me. The only reason it didn't was because adventure games were very rare at the time.

Shoot, that was meant as a reply to randomguy132 about Trace Memory.

(I like to disable JavaScript...well, for many reasons...but specifically on DS Fanboy/Joystiq because it causes the main pages take literally almost an entire minute to actually finish loading.)

You must have really hated Ico then.
That was a joke.

Trace Memory was better than Hotel Dusk in my opinion.
I could tell you why, but I don't want to spoiler either titles for readers.
Peace.

Rocket Slime is awesome and well worth the money...
Magical Starsign isn't bad for that price. And I liked Lunar okay. Not as bad as the reviews say it is...
My Word Coach isn't bad, either. You'll learn a few new words and it is pretty fun. Not worth $30, but for $10 it isn't bad...

Is Lunar worth $10?
It was a pretty hard sell at $40 back when the DS was new to me, and the bad reviews never helped either. Instead I replayed both PlayStation versions to get my fix. But, that was some time ago now...
