So what do you do when everyone else has a DS Lite, and you're stuck with an old Phatty model? Personalize it, of course! We've seen a lot of these painted Phats before, and have even featured a few
right here in this space, but we like the literal approach reader Zis took with her DS. Not only does the latest paint job feature a super cute San-X character, but there are speakers painted -- where else? -- over the speakers, and a mic by the mic. Why? It's easier to show nongamers where everything is, says Zis. Also, it's more fun that way. Brilliant, says us.
In our gallery, you can see not only bigger, better shots of the DS (without our not-so-helpful text overlays), but also the last paint job Zis laid down, which featured Badtz Maru (a Sanrio character), but it wasn't clearcoated, and eventually, it got scratched. Zis scraped the rest of the paint away -- which did not damage the DS, she says! -- and replaced it with the above. This time, it's clearcoated, so it'll
last.
Show and Tell is all about your stuff, so long as it's Nintendo-related. We love to see your collections, your crafts, your frosted creations, your t-shirts and swag of all sorts. Just snap a few pictures, tell us what's up, and send it all to showmeit [at] dsfanboy [dot] com. We'll take care of the rest.

Mic is pointing at the power lights, not the mic.

Hey! Old phatty model? I own the original DS and I'm proud of it. It has better buttons and D-pad, better speakers, and, IMO, a better design.

As an owner of both a phat and a lite, I must wholeheartedly disagree: not only is the lite smaller and lighter, but the buttons, speakers, backlights, and overall design are far and away superior.
That being said, I still love my phat, even though I got it 2 weeks before Nintendo pulled a 180 and admitted that, yes, indeed there was a redesigned NDS coming out. Oh well! Got one anyways!
On to the artwork: definitely not my style, but totally awesome! I love a personalized DS!
