I remember playing this in ROM fashion a lot of years ago and I really enjoyed it. All signs point to this being awesome except that it looks exactly like FF III, which I thought was very visually underwhelming and was really just very bland. Here's hoping we don't have more of the same for FF IV...

You can't really expect that much from the DS, especially when most of the RPGs on the handheld are 2D. I think the visuals look great on the hardware, and I'm excited to replay one of the best RPGs ever made (I still own the original on the SNES -- never sold it).

Well honestly I would have rather them kept the 2d, rather than move to the not-so-appealing 3d setup they have now. 2d with 3d backgrounds (something similar to Castlevania) with improved sprites would have been awesome.

That battle gameplay irritates me. Why didn't they keep the touch-screen battling? It's obviously perfect for navigating menus, and they blew it.

If its anything like the FF3 remake then you can touch all the commands with the stylus instead of using the d-pad

Except the videos show the battle menus on the top screen, not the bottom. The bottom just had stats.
