When we heard about the Speaker Channel that would allow Band Brothers DX players to share tracks with one another, we were immediately smitten with the title, even if we knew in the back of our mind that we'd probably never get to play it. Regardless of the end product's quality, strives such as this set precedents for others to utilize the DS and Wii together in interesting fashions.Now, we can view the Channel in action, courtesy of the video uploaded over at the Touch DS site. We'd like to embed it, but, alas, we cannot. So, head on over and give it a look.

Ok, so this is literally the best DS game in its current form anyway. But to take an already perfect game and improve it a hundred fold, is pure art. So much hard work has been put in thier end that im going to give as much navigating the menu's.
But, and this is a question to you guys at DS fanboy. HOW? the devil, do you get the speaker channel onto the wii? By disk? By download? because if its by download, then it'll only be available in japan. And if so, bye bye english console.

Probably by disc. It's just one channel- a mini-CD will easily fit in the DS game's case. Of course, hope it doesn't include any updates- JP update+non-JP Wii = brick.
I'm surprised that this game hasn't been sold outside Japan yet.

It'll be like the Mario Kart Channel. The actual game disc will have the channel.

I'm fairly sure the channel will be downloadable from the Wii shop channel for free in the same way that the Internet Channel and others were, at least in japan it will. For other regions, someone from the homebrew community should release an installer for it in the same way that Wiiware and Virtual console games can be installed for free, or at least I hope so.

you're definately right :'( i could cry a million tears over this, ive been watching this game and absolutely mullering the last one, and i want that speaker channel. Do you have any idea that if you buy a japanese wii that itll work for downloads of japanese things in the uk?

If you bought a japanese wii you could certainly access the japanese shop and their downloads while being in a PAL region or buy their virtual console games (but you'd have to buy new points with a credit card) but I don't think it will be necessary. There's this thing called the "twilight hack" and hopefully someone will make the channel installable through that. It's been done in the past with japan-only Wiiware and virtual console games. I sure hope I can get the speaker channel because it looks like such a good game. I really enjoyed the first one and this one looks so much better. I guess we'll find out on thursday.

I have a Japanese Wii and Daigassou Band Brothers DX for my DS. I live in U.S. and I have been able to download all the virtual console games using my Japanese Wii, but not this speaker channel. I'm wondering if Nintendo blocks the access to speaker channel from outside Japan.
Now I really want to find a way to install speaker channel. Has anyone successfully done this?

I took a look at the box inside and there was this code I had to enter to get the speaker channel.
Well, that proves that speaker channel can be used in U.S. with Band Brothers DX on Japanese Wii!
