I've never enjoyed cooking. When I was a fresh-faced nipper, my younger brother was the one who stayed indoors and cooked with my parents, while I did manly stuff like climb trees and build forts. Now that we're adults, this reflects in our respective kitchens. He'll casually rustle up a beef bourguignon for his friends, the nonchalant git, while I can barely look after my own dietary needs, never mind anybody else's. I am, by my own admission, an atrocious cook.To illustrate this, here's a random list of meals that I have ingested over the past fortnight:
- A takeaway pizza (on at least three occasions)
- Toast with apricot jam
- A saddo's microwaveable meal-for-one
- Baked beans with cheese expertly grated over them
- Several bowls of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes
- A 500g bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk Whole Nut
This is why my curiosity was piqued by Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat? I've never been interested enough in cooking to pick up a book on the subject, but perhaps the sheer novelty of an interactive cooking guide on my beloved DS would inspire me to greater things in the kitchen? Stranger things have happened, so let the DS Fanboy Cook-Off begin!
