Helping you on your adventure are 50 new "Omega Elebits," elemental creatures different from the normal electricity-generating Elebits (who also appear). And they shouldn't cause players to backtrack through the entire game to catch them all. "We didn't want to make Elebits: Adventures of Kai & Zero a game that was too difficult. We want it to be a pick up and play, fun experience that anyone can play. You are going to find the Omega Elebits when you need them."
From Nolan's comments, it sounds like the adventure-style Elebits DS games are planned as a new, continuing branch of the franchise separate from the grabby Wii games. "Mukaitouge-san who is the producer of the first one basically said that the DS experience will be the next direction for the next DS experience. The first Wii game will be the story and the starting point for the next Wii game."
Which means that yes, there will probably be more Elebits games on both systems.

This game looks pretty sweet! Man, I feel like the DS is the first Nintendo handheld that has really stands alone as a great system in it's own right. You can tell by the number of exclusive sequels and brand new series' made for it -- and they keep on coming!. In the past, the Gameboy handhelds were much more suited for ports of whatever former N system it was powerful enough to handle (NES remakes on GB/Color, and SNES games for GBA), or home to some ridiculously stripped down version of a variety of games on whatever consoles were currently available (*insert annual sports game or game based on movie here* -- honestly, when you have a game on PS2, Xbox, and GC, you just know that the developers included a GBA version just to cover *ALL* markets, and the result was almost always bad). Granted, there's a little bit of that going on on the DS (a handful of N64 ports, and of course those sports and movie games I mentioned), but there's so many more great titles for the DS (including a great number that are just as good or better than some of the "next gen" games out there -- who says you need over the top graphics to make a solid game?) than any other handheld ever produced (even moreso than PSP, which seems to have an overwhelming amount of PS1 games -- and some less graphically challenging PS2 games than original content). Gthis time in the GBA's lifecycle, we were seeing fewer games produced, and the "budget" GB Micro was on it's way out (i.e., Nintendo's last effort to make a buck on a dying system), but our dear DS keeps on trucking.
