When was the last time you returned to a DS game that long sat neglected in your collection? (Okay, so the answer to this probably isn't Ping Pals; and if it is, consider yourself a buffoon.)
Had you already completed the game in question, or did you purchase it and get immediately sidetracked by something else? Are there any older games you plan to return to in the near future? This blogger is currently on his third trip through the Yggdrasil Labyrinth in Etrian Odyssey (hence this topic) -- I never completed the title in two previous attempts, but I'm determined to not get distracted this time!

I need to stop working weekends. I really, really do. This current situation is untenable. On topic: I completed Contact around two months ago. I brought the game on release day, played it for a couple hours, then left it for a whole year. Then I was looking at my stack of DS games and I said to myself: I'll give it another go, it is a Grasshopper game. And I enjoyed it, I really did, and not in that fake way when you try and justify an error purchase. I liked it, it was a bit grindy, though.

I recently started Trauma Center again. I got stuck halfway through the first time I played it over a year ago.

I'm on my second play through Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I've already played through the entire series of 4 games once each in Japanese, and now I'm going through them again in English.
It's almost like visiting old friends again. Sometimes I think I would still be quite satisfied if these were the only games I had ever bought for my DS.

I recently did a playthrough of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass after misplacing the game somewhere in my room. ...I'll never forgive myself...
Good luck with the Etrian playthrough! I'm going through the labyrinth for the first time myself after finding it at a used game store.

All I have to say is keep fighting through it. The game gets better after the third stratum. TRUST me.

Metroid prime and ninja gaiden. Two of the best games in my opinion for the ds that I never got around to beating.

Etrian Odyssey remains one of my favorite games on the DS despite the fact that I experienced sudden burnout shortly before beating the boss of the first stratum, having logged at least 40 hours on the game by that point. My username is actually the name of my guild in EO.
Strangely enough, there hasn't been a DS game as of yet that I've picked up for a second time after beating. I almost reset Pokemon Pearl, but remembered all the awesome pokemon I got from Japanese people desperate for an English-named pokemon and thought better of it, so I settled for playing Crystal over again.

I almost never play all the way through a game without taking at least one multi-month break. Some games, like Contra, would drive me nuts if I tried to muscle through them.

I always get side tracked when playing games due to many circumstances (like buying a new game(s), or school). So I have a pile of games that I either still have to finish or still have to play (3 of these). I also noticed that I tend to put a game down whenever I feel like I'm getting close to the end, because I don't want the game to end yet. ^^
There are only a few games that I've actually played through without interruption.

after beating ninja gaiden on easy, i stopped halfway through on the harder difficulty and just started again. The game is so repetative that I lose interest fast.

I've given up trying to get through Mario & Luigi Partners in Time. I've restarted that game three times now, only to be interrupted by something, then by the time I get back to it, I've completely forgotten what I was doing. I yield!

professor layton and the curious village. it's not that i finnished it and started over, it's just that i get bored of it and put it down for months only to come back to it later. i love the game, it's just the puzzles can be a bit tedious.

I have too many DS games to re-play anything just yet. I have picked up old games to play for a little while, though. Going through Pokemon League in diamond every now and then is fun, even if my level 99 Charizard is a bit over powered (raised him from an egg, I did). And New Super Mario is great fun to play a level or two of (I have so much fun in World 4, I don't know why).

Recently, I popped Days of Ruin back and managed to complete the story mode. I had enjoyed the game when I took it up at release, but I'm a slow AW player and if I can't finish a battle once I start it, I must restart -- can't remember what I was trying to effectively do.

I just re-remembered Etrian Odyssey too! I'm enjoying it a lot. Maybe I'll finish. But picking up old dungeon crawlers has gotten me sidetracked with Morrowind on PC too, so my attention has become divided.
