But enough of that. While previous Pokémon Platinum trailers have wasted time showing us Pokémans frolicking in meadows, this latest serving comes with a great big dollop of gameplay sauce. There's more of that weird, topsy-turvy level that we're itching to wrap our minds around, some coverage of Wi-Fi play, plenty of battles, and those five silhouettes of the "new" Pokémon that you may have already theorized about.
You can also hit the break to see the most relentlessly chirpy man and woman in Japan talk us through Platinum's minigames and Wi-Fi mode, assisted by some cute kids.

So, is anyone else going to trade all of their uberleet EV trained pokemon to Platinum using their sibling's/friend's/Phat-that-is-lying-around-ever-since-the-Lite-came-out DS, bulldoze through the game with those, just so they can play that topsy-turvy place? Cause I know I am.

You have to remember about the fact that high-leveled traded pokemon will be disobedient until you obtain certain badges...

My level 99 Charizard need not obey. Only to lay down swaths of death and fire.

nice video that showcases all the new things and features in Platinum! At the end it seems like the voice man gave a hint about those five silhouettes, but I can't understand the rest because it is in japanese =(

I'm not a fan of post-GSC Pokemon games, especially their music, but I'll be damned if that main theme never gets old.

I'm sorry to all the Pokemon haters out there, but that was friggin' awesome!
I know I'm one Pokeholic that can hardly wait for this game to be "localized" and released in the US (or at least an English speaking country).
I thought I read sometime in January '09?
Right? Anybody?

I don't know about January 09, but it's definitely coming out in the early part of 09 from what I have read (I believe the exact month is February, but I'm not sure about this). I'm just as excited and just as much of a pokeholic as you ^^

Thanks Chibi_wings!
Where did you see the write up?
I thought it was on this site buy I can't seem to find a definitive date now. :(
I was hoping the powers that be would change the release date to catch the holiday shopping season ... guess not.

Not wanting to get caught up in symantics, I refer to myself as a Pokeholic.

You can call yourself whatever you like. Bottom line is we all like Pokemon and can all get along, right?
