It's normally only the biggest names that get splashed across limited edition DS Lites -- the Nintendogs, Zeldas, Pokémons, Guitar Heros, and Final Fantasys of this world. Playlogic clearly feels that Red Bull BC One is ready to join that elite bunch, because it ordered in an unspecified number of Onyx Black DSes and proceeded to uglify them by slapping these forgettable transfers on each.
We don't wish to be mean-spirited, but we're struggling to see who will pick this up. In our experience, limited edition DSes are based on games with either a rabid fanbase, huge brand power, or both. As out of touch with modern culture as we are, we're fairly certain that Red Bull BC One has neither. At least the children of Playlogic CEOs know what they're getting for Christmas.

Red Bull is not delicious. :| I would rather a laser-etched DS than one that promotes an undelicious drink.

Whats next DS's based on ads? Come on now...
At least they should be cheaper if they are basically a billboard for a brand name.

I'd take one for free, but I wouldn't buy it. Why would I pay for the privilege of advertising Red Bull (even if I liked Red Bull ... yuck).

I wouldn't even take one for free....that red sticker (or whatever it is), sure is ugly. If they want to promote their products through the DS, they should at least create a better design. Then maybe someone would actually WANT one because it looks NICE.

When I was a DJ on my local university radio station, some guys came in and gave me and the staff at the station some free Red Bull. So naturally, I said "Hey, hang out for a minute." And they did, thinking they would get some free on-air advertising.
So I went on, talked about Red Bull for a minute, then decided to do an on-air taste test. I think I devoted about ten minutes to how much Red Bull sucked. They never came back around too much. I wish they knew that no one listened to the campus radio station, they probably shouldn't have given up so easily.

I don't think you are really seeing who it is advertising. Red Bull BC One is a Breakdancing competition where some of the best dancers compete.
I for one would love to have this thing. As a fellow breakdancer it is kind of nice to see this.
Red Bull is just a sponser of the event. So it actually seems that Playlogic is the one doing the advertising for itself.

You've obviously never heard of Ryan Sohmer or any of the other rabid Red Bull fans out there. Yeah, they exist. One of my friends literally will not pull out of his driveway, even to go to the movies, if there isn't a pack of Red Bull in the console between his two front seats. He just won't.
It's a huge brand with a huge gaming fanbase. It may not sell the way a FF DS would, but it'll still sell, I can promise you that.

Hell, I'd take one for free and use it as an excuse to try my hand at customization. :P
Red Bull is an evil, evil drink though.
