All game companies need to invest heavily into this. With the glut of shovelware hitting, it gets more and more difficult to find that rare gem that -doesn't- happen to be on of the highly hyped games of the year. I've enjoyed many of the hyped games, but when I find those "sleeper hits", I tend to like them even more.

I have just come to accept that Nintendo doesn't care about advancing anything but their market share. They don't seem to care about developing a quality service because they are more inclined to remain a "toy" and maintain a toy-level complexity. If Nintendo were serious, they would be releasing demos for Wii games in the Wii Store before duct-taping together a DS distribution system like this one.

I'd like to have the storage space on my Wii to have the Nintendo Channel, let alone download DS demos!!

Guys, it's complex and expensive to develop a DS demo for developers.
If they are only available 2 weeks on Wii Channel it make things even less useful.

Most of the demos (here in the UK at least) on the DS Download Service are damn training games.

I rent many games before I buy them because I'd like to see the final product over a demo before making a decision. I'll play a demo, but it's never enough to satisfy me.
Although I do admit, this is definitely a step in the right direction. The timed aspect of it, though, is something that needs to go away. We can plug in a keyboard to the Wii, so let us search through some demos.

Space Invaders Extreme. I was burned the last time I bought something on hype (TWEWY), so I'd like my interest in the game to at least be backed up by liking the gameplay.
