Nintendo's fall media event confirmed a US release for the newly-announced Mario & Luigi RPG 3, as if we didn't expect it! The date wasn't specified beyond "2009," leading us to wonder if it will be positioned to coincide with the DSi. Or not. There are plenty of dates in one year for both. Also coming in 2009, specifically the first half: Rhythm Heaven, which has been selling like crazy in Japan. We really shouldn't let all the new hardware and new game announcements and such overshadow what is really important in life -- which is Rhythm Heaven.

I hope they make it like the first one. The second one was alright, but the babies just made it kind of awkward and hard at times.

Nintendo's publishing big-name games for DS again? Preposterous!

Let me clarify; Mario RPG for the SNES was my favorite game ever.
Now, I found that the Mario RPG for the DS was quite possibly -the worst game I've ever played-. To spend about an hour a dungeon extremely repetitively, only to earn a star and unlock new dungeons on the map 'castle' is just akward, repetitive, and Awful. Once I gathered a few, Bowser Jr. stole all of my Stars. That was when I quit the game.

But what about the GBA Mario RPG, which was far superior to the DS sequal?

The reason Super Mario Rpg was soo much better than Gba mario rpg(decent ), the bad DS sequel, the GBA sequel(worst than the first gba game) or the paper marios is simple(they were just ok):
Super Mario RPG for Snes was done by an elite team of Square(Final Fantasy...enough said) and Nintendo.
Square broke with Nintendo after that(N64...) and after that, they never teamed again.
Nintendo tried to keep the spirit and go alone with their "spiritual" sequels but it never worked quite right. The games were too simple, too shallow(less characters, less skills, less story, less everything, and the visuals werent good enough). Some were Good but they didnt break history.
I DO wish that with the reformed friendship between nintendo and square they work on a sequel to that classic jewel of gaming.
