It's a miniskirt: Maaario!
Apparently, Craftster forum member Vivifromage couldn't find very much of this Super Mario 64 fabric (where would you even find something like that? Oh, right) because she made herself not very much skirt. It's a nice design, with two pockets and everything! We're just far too modest for something so revealing, is all.
Also found at Wonderland, where we found this: Remote-controlled Mario and Luigi golf toys, wool Donkey Kong, and a clock made from an NES Tetris cartridge. There's a clock just like that on our wall, except it uses a Gyromite cartridge instead of Tetris. Not to brag about totally having done it first, but, you know, it just happened to totally get done before this one.

The DS Life: Our Digital Yard
The electronic blips and chirps, mingling with the crickets and other evening harmonies, are what draw you in at first. Against a building wall, a projected game of Super Mario World plays, but it's not any level you've ever seen. Nearby, a group of people sit around a Powerbook, one of them shaking a Wii remote while the others watch. Above them all, eleven Game Boys and a tangle of wires hang from a tree. What could be going on?
UFO Catcher Tengoku
We still haven't heard word on whether or not Nintendo will ever bring Rhythm Tengoku to the states (Highly unlikely), but Sega has been keeping the rhythm-action title going in Japan with its GBA-to-arcade port and, according to this new find, UFO catchers filled with Rhythm-Tengoku-themed prizes!
Provided that you're proficient with maneuvering a claw to pick up crap, you'll be able to win a number of brightly-colored, long-sleeved shirts with the minigame collection's characters screen-printed on them, as well as pillows shaped like Rhythm Tengoku's iconic, hairy onions. Moustache not included
It'sa me ... sorta! If you're on the lookout for a game-inspired costume this Halloween, we would like to recommend not this costume. Spencer over at Siliconera happened upon this Mario-esque kit while searching for his own costume, and found it lacking. His major problem with the kit is that it's one-size-fits-all, or, in other words, a sack.That's one of our problems with this item from Leg Avenue (who is, by the way, a lingerie company first and foremost; consider that information when deciding whether it's a good idea to open the link where you are). Our other major issues include the lack of a moustache and the fact that the costume is probably made out of that paper-thin stretchy nylon stuff that most cheap Halloween costumes are made out of, and will therefore look exactly as cool as any other loose Spandex overalls you may have worn in your lifetime. Let us put it this way-- it's going to look worse in real life than it does on the package.
DS Zelda mod in a cooler shade [update 1]
While the previous effort evoked a very classic Zelda feel with its stately gold and black hues, this DS, with its vivid blue-on-white design, fits in more with the Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass aesthetic, which is more DS-appropriate anyway!

Zelda Week: Bishop Allen's "Butterfly Nets"

The New Gamer has put up a downloadable mp3 of the song, as well as an analysis on how its lyrics and mollifying tone unintentionally matches that sense of discovery and wonder one often has when exploring Hyrule. The track's title itself recalls memories of chasing flitting bees and fairies with a bug-catching net in A Link to the Past.
On a somewhat related note, we had the pleasure of meeting Bishop Allen's lead singer, Justin Rice, when the Brooklyn-based indie band was touring with Mates of State a few years ago. He started chatting with us in a public restroom, visibly three sheets to the wind, while we were washing our hands, and somewhere during the conversation, he convinced himself that we were searching for a misplaced friend. We parted ways several minutes later, and he promised to keep an eye out for our off-course comrade. We wonder if he ever found him ...

Penny Arcade on Bloggergate
Today's Penny Arcade comic covers a subject that is near and dear to us: the poor Nintendo employee who was fired for inappropriate statements made on her blog. Even though her blog was really mean to her coworkers, we feel a certain solidarity as Nintendo bloggers. Whether or not she deserved dismissal for statements made while off-duty is a little bit more of a complex issue than we want to get into right now (though we lean heavily toward "no"), but we have no problem pointing you at a funny comic so you can laugh.Luckily for us, whenever we're mean on our blog, it's towards the Imagine games and not people. If Imagine Babyz were our boss, well, we'd probably be in jail by now.

Clearly, we approve of this decision. Also, of the completely outrageous and awesome ice sculpture, which looks just about perfect for Zelda week. Maybe we could get one of those for the DS Fanboy offices ....
The cake, of course, featured Nintendo themes, with Mario and Peach perched on the top tier, and all of the tables were named after consoles. But the best part? Even the wedding's music was lifted from classic Nintendo games. Now we're officially jealous.
