FFVI Advance trailer

Because it's important to have a trailer for one of the most beloved games of all time. We need that advertising. It's okay, though, because we're all about watching Final Fantasy videos. We don't even need a flimsy excuse. Check it out after the jump.

FFVI Advance previewed, adored

1UP's given FFVI Advance the preview treatment, and they are effusive in their praise. However, they're quick to note that the additions and improvements are few. This is very nearly the same game, just as it was released on the SNES -- the backgrounds have not been redrawn and the sound suffers compared to what we've become accustomed to. The added content is slim -- a few new fights, some of which we've seen. But that's okay, because Final Fantasy VI, naked and unadorned, remains one of the most beloved entries in a renowned series. It would seem somehow wrong to dress up a game that is already responsible for so much of what we enjoy in RPGs today.

FFVI Advance screens: we're sensing a theme here

And that theme is blue. Until one sees the screens all together like this, the whole blue thing isn't really noticeable, but all of these pictures run a monochromatic gamut of violet and indigo and back around to slate and cyan. And it's not just the menus, either, but rather an overall motif. It does, however, make every splash of orange really stand out against the blue.

We really need to get a hobby that has nothing to do with Final Fantasy .... Check out the ocean of (bluish) screens after the jump.

Featured Friday Video: FFVI Advance, now with Gilgamesh

We love added content in our favorite old games -- so long as it's good. When it comes to new battles in Final Fantasy VI? It can't possibly be not-good. That's why today's featured video showcases two great tastes that make us drool together: FFVI and Gilgamesh.

So how's the GBA port look and sound to you?

Final Fantasy V and VI trailer

The Final Fantasy, much to our enjoyment, never ends. What started as a final attempt became an RPG icon. Final Fantasy has dominated for nearly 20 years now as new installments are released. Square Enix, in their attempts to reach every gamer possible, has made plans to re-release older titles on the GameBoy Advance.

They have already released Final Fantasy I/II Dawn of Souls and Final Fantasy IV. Carrying on with the tradition, Final Fantasy V and VI are making their way into our homes.

We have already shown you pictures, the web site and now we are offering you a promo video featuring lots and lots of words we can't read. This makes us a sad panda bear. Enjoy!

As usual, see the video after the break.
