Super MarioThere are a couple of new games for the DS fanboys this week, but there's only one that everyone's talking about.  In a word: Mario! After 20 years, we still love him (I guess we still love them if you include his lesser brother, Luigi).

DS Releases

  • New Super Mario Bros.
  • X-Men: The Official Game

Gameboy Advance

  • Backyard Baseball 2007
  • Tringo
  • X-Men: The Official Game

As always, availability is subject to manufacturer delivery.

1. WooHoo!! It's finally here, can't wait to play it, I've needed a new DS game lately.

2. It doesn't seem like it's coming out already~ I'm more than ready for it. Although, this means I need to retire yet another DS game from my case ;_; I love and play them all.

3. Traded in my PSP (that was gathering dust) for a DS Lite recently. I've been hooked on the only game I bought so far, Mario Kart. Can't wait to pick up the New SMB.

4. You guys didn't get the DS lite in the US yet, but in Japan, we have to wait 10 more days for the new Mario :-(

Posted at 3:44AM on May 15th 2006 by Thomas

5. Or you can get it via importers like liksang or renchi.com, anyway, they have a reivew of the game, and I can't wait to get my hands on mine... mario rules...

6. Aw, poor Luigi. He's the best.

7. Why bother getting this on release. Didn't Reggie say in an interview that this Super Mario would be unplayable on the phat DS (too dark), yet we (in the US) won't get our mitts on DS Lite for nearly another month. Doesn't make much sense. Shouldn't they be simaltaneous US launch?

Posted at 10:35AM on May 15th 2006 by Randy_B

8. uh....yeah. the new mario game is playable on ALL ds systems. to think it wouldn't play on the original ds is just stupid

Posted at 11:25AM on May 15th 2006 by Stephen

9. His "lesser" brother, Luigi? Ouch for the big L. It's ain't easy being green.

Posted at 12:12PM on May 15th 2006 by mike

10. The old DS is plenty bright to play any games. Even the old Castlevania GBA game.

But the new Lite really is super bright compared to it.

14. "I guess we still love them if you include his lesser brother, Luigi"

Ouch, Luigi needs a new image. Maybe even his own DS game.

15. I can't believe anyone fell for the April fool's joke :)

16. Have anybody already played Mario? What impressions?

Posted at 4:06PM on May 15th 2006 by Acne-30

17. For some strange reason, Walmart had this game before Gamestop, and it's pretty awesome. I'm not very far yet, but I'm having a blast. It's better than getting my arse handed to me in Lost Magic online.

18. Bummer! No Mario at Best Buy or Malwart yet... Maybe Tuesday?

Posted at 6:05PM on May 15th 2006 by floatch

19. The Japanese Box art looks better because both Mario and Luigi are small lol.

20. Hey, does anybody know how to submit stuff to dsfanboy? Or if the editors are reading this could you please let me know?
