Since the game is so traditional, we were initially slightly (only slightly) put off by the choice to make the blocks square instead of the Arkanoid-correct rectangles. We changed our minds when we saw the Space Invaders level made possible by square blocks. It's only one of the 140 Clear Game levels, in addition to the Quest Mode challenges.
We still play a lot of NES Arkanoid, and we really want to see Taito succeed with this. We really want the DS to become the new NES.

I'm all for new versions of old games. Direct ports I'm not excited about, even if they change it ever so slightly (looking at you, diddy kong)

I'm really excited for this.
I remember there being an origianl Arkanoid machine at a pub & grub I used to visit a lot when I was younger. That game ate so many of my quarters (or rather, my mother's, since I always bummed her for cash as a child). Loved Arkanoid so much.
And since this is getting that knob attachment, that makes it 1,000,000x more awesome than any other Brickout-like game on the DS!
