Some awesome soul has taken it about himself to make visually enhanced game tunes, and the result is nothing short of spectacular. Using a program called Music Animation Machine MIDI Player, which converts the musical notes of MIDI songs into art, the creator of these videos has managed to blow our minds. Sure, we always enjoy it when musical sounds are synthesized with visual imagery, but when some of our favorite songs are involved, it just makes it that much better.
We decided to put the Mega Man 2 "Dr. Wily Stage 1" song up top to celebrate Rock Man's 20th anniversary, and well, because it's our favorite. If you don't look after the break to check out the equally awesome Final Fantasy IV, Kirby, Mario, and other tunes, though, you officially fail at the internet.

Oh, dear, my music professors would pretty much have heart attacks if they ever found out about that one. Thanks, Phil ;).

As much as I enjoyed that, I have to say it's a lot more like watching the scroll on a player piano than visual art. Actually it's exactly like watching the scroll on a player piano.

Dare I call the video aspect boring? Yes, I do, but the audio was great.

Excellent song, but I don't really see the art here.
Well, except for the E-tank of course, that was awesome.

I was going to say:
"I fail to see where this "animation" is that you speak of. Like mike said, it's just a music tracker. Comes with pretty much any program that allows you to make music or input midi files. It's not art."
But then I took the break and saw the rest of them and realized what you meant. I think you probably shouldn't have chosen the Mega Man one to display on the front because people are watching that first and not getting what you're saying, then moving on without watching the others.

You're right, it was a bad choice for the front video, but I couldn't help it! Mega Man makes me weak. WEAK!

Awesome, a wonderful integration of classic game songs in midi and ascii art.. And indeed, the megaman one is an awesome song, but the rest of the vids are what it's really about..

Music Animation Machine MIDI Player. Google it, it's the first or second hit. (Though I wonder if this post isn't above it now.)
