In case you missed our previous coverage of the game in action, it's pretty busy regarding gameplay, but in a good way. We wonder if Square will decide to release any special edition DS Lite with the game like they did in Japan?

Outside of Japan, it is going to be called The world Ends With You? That is a Much Cooler name! It sounds so much more dramatic.

It was changed only because of the movie by the same name, but I agree, the new name sounds more dramatic. I haven't played the game, so I don't know which name fits better, but at least they made a good choice for the new name.
Very much looking forward to this release.

I never thought that this game would be localized due to what I presumed to be a large amount of culture-specific content, so this is a nice surprise. I can learn to like the new name. There's something a bit strange about being personally addressed by the title, but, given the rather dire situation the protagonist is in at the beginning of the game, I can't argue that The World Ends With You doesn't make more sense.
Also, I haven't been able to find any information about whether there are left-handed controls for this game or not. I'm pretty much screwed out of ever being able to play this if the feature isn't included, so does anyone have any information on this?

If you're left-handed, you can use the A-B-X-Y buttons instead of the D-pad, so you can still play holding the stylus with your left hand.

I'm glad they are releasing this game in the US, I had a chance to play the japanese one. the fighting system is really fun and action packed, but i'm sure the game will be ten times better when I know what everyone is talking about!

Awesome! I've been tempted to import this one, but I don't know Japanese (I did, however, import the soundtrack; it's pretty decent). Can't wait for the spring!

They better keep the original music with the game. I listen to the OST countless times, and always wonder what's going on at the point in the game when a particular song plays.

A little note for you guys: the press release for The World Ends With You only mentions a European spring 2008 release... there's nothing about North America: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=31258
Hopefully that'll change *crosses fingers*

Yes, it is true that it only says Europe, but if we take into account the general disdain game companies have for Europe (sorry, but its true) then NA will be getting it Q1 2008.

I've been wanting to play this game ever since I saw the preview for it! I didn't think they would bring it outside of Japan either, but I just hope they don't localize the game to take place in Times Square or something.

I second that! No Ouedan/EBA business just give us the game the way the original creators intended (translated, of course!) Square-Enix has a good reputation in this regard though.
