Assassin's Creed finally comes out of hiding

Hey, look! Actual direct-feed screenshots of the DS Assassin's Creed game! It's a freakin' miracle! We can finally see what Altair's Chronicles is going to look like, even if we don't exactly know how the game works.

As for what it looks like: it's in full 3D, with slightly more success than you'd expect on the DS. The game keeps a mostly top-down perspective, like another early 3D stealth game we know, but seems to close in on combat scenes. The whole thing actually looks fairly sophisticated and nice, for a game we continue to be very suspicious about.

We imagine that it plays similarly to a more acrobatic Metal Gear Solid, as well, with the bottom screen acting as radar. You can also choose from the dozen or so available weapons via the touchscreen.

Except one pic all seem to be taken from a sidescrooler ... it seams like it has an automatic camera angle , and that looks cool ... Im looking forward to this game , and I do hope that it gets good reviews :)

I must say that I am suspicious as well. A game like that is so easy to mess up and with the mixed reviews the original game got I'm not holding my breath on this one. Show me video footage and an explanation of how the controls will work and I might get my hopes up.

I wish they would come out with games like this for the Wii more often, obviously it could have been done. Looks like the DS version is NOT half-assed, which is really encouraging. I will be checking it out for sure.

That QJ site is saying that it will cost about $60 dollars and 30 GBP... I think there's an error there... or else Ubisoft is out of its mind.
