Romero goes on to say more negative things regarding the Gamecock CEO, adding "Wilson is taking all the credit away from the indie devs and pasting his asinine logo everywhere." Romero claims that industry insiders are more along his line of thinking, as well, stating "People are now starting to get a clue about how Mr. Wilson operates. Hey everyone, he hasn't changed in over 10 years – these are the kinds of jackass stunts he pulled at Ion Storm."

He worked on Cartoon Network Block Party. I think he's lost the right to talk trash.

Gamecock gave Dementium life, without it Renegade Kid may have never published Dementium, thus... I have much respect for Gamecock, which hasn't been knocked after a string of very stupid stunts by them. However, if they continue being a bunch of arses, that respect is just going to disappear...

Good Idea: Fund indie devs
Bad Idea: Brand them with Cocks

I took a look at that and it appears to pretty much confirm what Romero was saying: Mike Wilson is a total dick. (Hmm, how appropriate.)

"labeling the company's E.I.E.I.O. event as another in a supposed long line of "jackass stunts.""
That's pretty much how I've always felt about that event.

I have zero respect for Mike Wilson and Gamecock and I feel sorry for any developers that are involved with them.

While Dementium isn't really my kind of game, the existence of Gamecock gives me more hope for risky, innovative gaming than any other single current development except downloadable content.
People may hate the company's personality, or that of its founder, but at least they have personality. They remind me a little of EA back when they made games and not franchises.
