Get 80% of a DS game at Circuit City

We aren't exactly sure why you would only want to buy 80% of a game, or why Circuit City would go to the trouble of chopping 20% off. It's extra work for their employees, and there's a chance the game wouldn't work! Unless they're just slicing 20% off of the box, in which case they could miss the card entirely. Oh, the price. We get it now. Well, that's actually quite nice.

The retailer's weekly ad quite unequivocally states that all DS games are 20% off, but the online store only shows adjusted prices for the six games shown on the page. We're guessing, then, that this is an in-store-only sale with a few games marked down online as a kind of bonus, rather than just a really misleading ad. Go check your local store before the only deal available also has "Or No Deal" in the title!

My experience tells me that Circuit City never has ANY DS games that I'm looking for. They never had the GameCube games I was looking for either. Maybe they just really hate Nintendo.

DS Fanboy, your attempt at humor SUCKS.

I thought it said Circuit City had DS games that were 80% off when I first read it.

I was amused. I also had no idea (but am unsurprised) Zelda is $35. Unlike Final Fantasy, I'm sure Zelda will stay there for a while. Must...resist...urge...to buy...

I may go take a trip over to Circuit City just for the sake of it, but Word Jong has been eating nearly all of my DS time. I'm quite surprised at how overlooked that game is. It's word puzzle gold.

Forewarned, I went yesterday to go pick up Geometry Wars Galaxies and when I was at the checkout, the cashier rang me up for the original price ($30 + tax). I asked her about the 20% discount on DS games and then she told me that the sale prices are usually in their computer system the day the sale starts.

So, I had to show her from their own ad, then she had to go ask the manager, and he finally approved the discount. I hope this isn't the case with every Circuit City right now but if it is, bring the weekly ad just to be safe.

It's weird. I feel like it was a flub on Circuit City's fault, like usual. I got Advanced Wars today and I'm really happy. My cashier knew what to do so I didn't have to explain to her shit. Lovely.

I plan to go back this week in hopes of finding New Super Mario Brothers. Yeah I'm HELLA late on that one.

W00. Advance wars and FF 12 for $50 shipped. Looks like at least some of the stuff is showing up online now. Advance wars is only $24, I was going to pick it up at the Nintendo store with a discount, but this is even cheaper.

I just picked up Cooking Mama 2 & Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

I'll probably need new Hori screen savers soon, since I recently got Ouendan 2 from Playasia. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is really tough on my screen saver.

Peace.
