Apparently it's about a million times harder than the original.

I welcome this change. The GBA adaptation felt like a cakewalk compared to the SNES version.
(Granted, I don't know how much of that was "nerf" and how much was "growing up and getting better at games", but it was still disappointing.)

It was a nerf. Actually, it was a NERF!!!!!!. The enemy attack rate was about 1/3 of the SNES version. Also, you could 2-hit KO the final boss with a little luck (find the right new weapon, which has a 25% chance to reduce any - ANY- enemy's HP to less than 10 if it hits).

It really took the sting out of the 180,000HP superboss to have him get arrow'd to death by Rosa after Kain dropped a Tornado train on him.

Good to know my intuitions weren't totally off base, then...
Add to that the bug where you'd get extra turns for no reason, and, well. Let's just say I'm hoping the DS port continues in the above vein!

the extra turns bug existed in the original game, it ws just a lot more noticeable now because of the ATB bar

I'm just worried they'll nerf the english language version. Wouldn't be the first time S-E has decided that we poor westerners can't handle the awesomeness of their games and made them easier...
