Rising Star Games has planted a European release date and the first English language media for Flower, Sun and Rain on the internet. Although the release date (October) is old news grandad, everything else is new, including the very lovely and understated boxart above, featuring a passenger airliner cruising across a calm, salmon-colored sky, a bomb presumably tucked away somewhere on board.
Some (very) minor details/impressions we picked up from the screens:
- We've now got our first look at the memo pad that can be used to make notes. Handy!
- Somehow, vampires are involved, thus escalating Flower, Sun and Rain's awesomeness.
- The 3D sections look more crude than we recall. We wonder: will Rockstar be able to better this?
-
Geeks and freaks ahoy!

I'm buying this game but only because of the names attached to the project. If it wasn't for Suda 51 or Grasshopper, this would not have caught my interest.
And yes, that vampire photo is awesome.

I see the finishing slash arrow from No More Heroes. I was hoping Suda would sneak in an homage somewhere. I know some might say the Mexican wrestling masks also count, but as far as I know those were already homages to Fire Pro Wrestling.
Now announce an early 2009 release date for NA and this'll be the best news all month.

Although taken in account that DS screens never look as good as the actual game, I'll have to agree that them screens indeed look crude. Not better than Resident Evil DS, imo.
"We wonder: will Rockstar be able to better this?"
Hell yeah they'll be. At least they sound pretty optimistic in their mailings:
"This will be unlike anything you have seen on the DS before – trust!"
I won't trust them, they're game developers. But my fingers are crossed.

Graphics do not a good game make. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is infinite proof of this.

I've been waiting for this since GameSpot first showed the screens for the Japanese release over a year ago. The DS needs more good adventure games.

This games graphics are only so "bad" since they are ps1 ORIGINAL.
R* will be able to do much better !
This game will be fun, so I also look forward to FSR.

What do you mean by "PS1 original"? Nah, grasshopper did not even exist in the PS1-era. Flower, Sun, and Rain is a _PS2_ original. But however, graphics must mean nothing for us, othervise we'd buy PSP insted of DS, dont you think?
Nigeria: I've bought Contact the same reasons a couple of weeks ago, but until now I wasn't very impressed.

This so reminds me of Alone in the Dark on the 3DO, they should port that over to the DS, and soon.
