Seriously, we thought the only people who could create such sound first-person shooting were Renegade Kid. But, homebrew creator Smea has gone ahead and disproved that notion with the tech demo you see in the video above. With some impressive lighting effects and a custom 3D collisions engine, you can bet we're impressed.
[Thanks, HBM!]

That blaster looks suspiciously similar to the one from Quake II. Hmmm...

Guys, the developer's name is Smealum, fix that. He's the one behind the Legion homebrew aswell, I've seen this footage a few days ago and I'd say that it might evolve into something nice.
Regarding the Q2's blaster, it's normal to use already existing assets when you're developing an engine.

Look's pretty good. I've never played Quake, so I wouldn't know if it was a rip off or texture change or anything.
A bit jittery, though. That'd make me feel sick pretty quick lol :D.

Engines nice (Great even), but I'd get someone on the design and Textures. Even for a tech-demo that was unimpressive.

ha ha ha wouldthis homebrew genius be called John Carmack by anychance because thats obviously a tweaked Q2 base code there and more to the point there's much more interesting looking engines going for the DS I don't think Renegade Kid are in danger of being trumped yet. Just look at how sexy Moon looks.

How do you know it's a tweaked Q2 engine? By the gun? Don't be ridiculous.
