Simply put, will the kind of longer-session multiplayer questing work on the DS as well as it did on the Dreamcast and all those other systems? Do you look forward to that kind of experience on a handheld? Obviously, people in Japan dig it (see: Monster Hunter Portable, Phantasy Star Portable). To us, there's something strange about this style of play on a handheld, and yet something quite appealing.

yes! If the battle system has a depth in it unlike final fantasy crystal chronicles, it would surely work. I was a big fan of the phantasy star games for the dreamcast and gamecube. I have been addictively playing phantasy star portable. Since the ds came out, i hoped for something like this to come out, and now it will! sadly, i dont know if theyre going to release it in the states, and if so its going to take FOREVER... =(

I remember hearing something about Maple Story DS and Ragnarok DS. I don't mind playing them but I don't particularly like liking online games (too addictive).

As long as its free, i'm in
If its not, then sorry
Next summer would be an awesome time for this game in North America, summers are best to dispose of with an MMO (or with that delicious looking DS Fire Emblem game)

Well i liked Ring of Fates on the DS and the one thing everyone dinged it for was not having Online Multiplayer. Well it looks like this game will out do Ring of Fates in that department so whats not to like?

I was a voracious fan of the first Phantasy Star Online - it was the shining star of my gamecube library; it's also the only game that didn't lose its head in the sell-off blitzkrieg when I went from purple box to white box.
That being said, I still think the pictochat system of speech is ingenious. Long conversations about socialism, no this will not work - battle commands and strategy shouts? Ohhh, brilliantly.

I started my PSO career with the Dreamcast version-- I fondly remember buying my own dialup account specifically to play that game.
I moved on to PSO on the gamecube, seeked out the incredibly hard to find Broadband adapter for the cube, and continued playing there.
I even played the godforsaken Xbox version, with its downgraded gamecube graphics and horrible voice chat.
I played PSO Blue Burst from Beta til Cancellation.
I'm currently working on Phantasy Star Universe, though the multitude of games i'm playing cuts deeply into my gametime with that.
I will absolutely buy PSZ the DAY it comes out, and I'll play it until the day my Zelda-Gold DS finally kicks its final bucket.
This is a day-one purchase for me.

We'll have to swap friend codes when this comes out.

It's a no for me. If I'm gaming with friends in person, we're playing something on the TV. An occasional local wireless Tetris match on the DS, but that's it.

Srry, don't believe this is an MMO. It's just multiplayer, right?
