Hot Summer DS Phats are hot
If you thought the glossy Premium Lites were valuable ... well, you'd be right. But are they the priciest DSes about? No way!
These "Hot Summer" DS Phats feature a neat wireframe model of a Mario character etched on the lid, and were given away in a Club Nintendo competition during the summer of 2005. They're about as rare as limited edition DSes come, with only 200 units of each version (Mario White, Bowser Black, Peach Pink, Yoshi Blue, and Donkey Kong Silver) ever made. Reportedly, the initial line-up included a Wario Silver edition, though the garlic-loving evil-doer was replaced by Donkey Kong midway through the competition.
The last time we posted on these, it was about a Yoshi Blue system that had appeared on eBay for $500. Ten months on, and these are turning up for twice that sum!
