Well, we started with an arguably tacky statuette, so we deemed it appropriate to finish with one. This golden(-colored) Mario first appeared in 2005, stands around two inches tall, and is ... nowhere near the best thing ever from the Japanese Club Nintendo. But it's still quite nice and probably ridiculously valuable to collectors!

I just ordered the hanafuda cards before the new Club year started (It runs Oct. 1 - Sept. 30 in Japan) but probably won't get them until next year, they're being redesigned or something. Made it up to Gold status this time, which means I should get a pretty sweet 2009 calendar pretty soon. Unfortunately I was out of the country when Tingle's Balloon Fight came and now it is lost to the ages.
