A whole new handheld

Of course, there is one other possibility -- an entirely new handheld. This is the longshot of the three major hardware choices Nintendo may be making this year, but there is a small chance it could happen.

Why it's likely: Well, it's not. We'll call it an outside chance.

Why we might not see it: It's probably a little too soon.

Prediction: Long odds -- but on the off chance it happens, this will be a huge year for Nintendo at E3.
