Space Invaders Extreme and Arkanoid websites are polar opposites

Both the Arkanoid DS and Space Invaders Extreme websites went live yesterday, and they couldn't be more different. Going to the Arkanoid website is like going to a Saturday brunch with your mother, while going to the SIE site is like hitting up a night club twelve hours later, staying out until 5 AM, and puking up everything you've had to drink before bedtime (we mean that in the best of ways).

If you want something more descriptive than a simile, the Arkanoid site is cleaner and more organized than its Invaders counterpart (and it's also silent), but we think that may be because there's no "Extreme" in its title to live up to. Those who prefer trippy visuals and loud music on their web browsers, though, should head on over to the SIE page (consider this a sound alert for those of you in "not safe for audio" workspaces). If you've visited the Japanese website for this title before, you'll know what to expect, as it's exactly the same.

As it stands, there's not much to do on either site except read about the games. We were hoping that little demos or browser games would be present, but alas, our wants were denied.

At least we'll see the real things in only two weeks.

Official FFTA2 website advances

We're at that point in the year when time just seems to fly by, so Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift will be out before you know it. That doesn't make the wait any easier, though, so we're glad Square Enix recently updated the official North American website with actual stuff to keep us busy.

Assuming you can make it past the site's annoyingly slow load time, you might enjoy some of the things it has to offer. So far, multimedia and information on the battle system is listed as "coming soon," but there's still plenty to keep you occupied. Mainly, you can look at a few character profiles, and also some of the different races and classes that will be available in the game.

We can already see our summer evaporating right in front of our very eyes.

Check out Sigma Harmonics' harmonious website

We know how much you kids love your Squeenix, so we hope you're intrigued by the company's refreshingly new IP, Sigma Harmonics. If you're not, you should still check out it's Japanese website. Even though most of us here at DS Fanboy can't read a lick of Japanese, we've never wanted a game so much before because of an official site. The art looks all kinds of gorgeous, and clicking on the "Story" link makes you feel like you're watching a trailer. We're also fond of the song choice -- it somehow puts hints of noir into a whimsical melody.

Last but not least, there are some wallpapers to download, if you're into that sort of thing.

Teaser site reveals Mega Man Star Force 3

There may be more Mega Man games than you'll ever get to play (or want to play) in your lifetime, but that hasn't stopped Capcom from milking the franchise even more.

The next game planned for the Blue Bomber is another title in the Star Force series. Yes, those of us outside of Japan haven't even gotten Mega Man Star Force 2 yet, but a third game is already on it's way.

Capcom has put up a teaser website for it, which is actually pretty nice-looking as far as official sites go. Currently, though, you can only download a wallpaper version of the picture shown above.

Turnabout website

Capcom just launched the official website for Gyakuten not Saiban (officially called Gyakuten Kenji, or Turnabout Prosecutor), which is one of our most anticipated spin-off games ever. So far, there are no goodies available at the site, but you can still check it out if you want to see Edgeworth's giant face and a minuscule amount of game art.

Aside from the magenta-coated prosecutor and everyone's favorite bumbling detective (Gumshoe), who will both be featured in the game, what characters do you hope to see make an appearance?

Disgaea website and screens appear

Have you got Disgaea on the brain? If so, you should probably get that looked at.

If you just happen to be excited for the upcoming DS remake, though, we have some new information for you. First, you can now visit the game's official Japanese website, which happens to be very pink. Like most official websites that are in a language we can't read, it's pretty unfulfilling -- but, who knows, you may sleep better at night just knowing that it's there.

We also have oodles of new screens to show you, which are posted after the break.

Go on, now -- you know what to do.

DS Daily: Official websites

We often let you readers know when websites for games go live. That got us to wondering, though -- just how many of you like to look at official game sites?

If you do tend to visit these websites on occasion, what brings you to them? Do you often check them out for titles you're really excited for? Or, do you normally wait until a gaming blog has something to say about a particular site before your curiosity makes you venture over? Also, has an awesome (or terrible) website ever pushed you over the fence on whether or not to buy a game?

I guess what we're asking is, just how important are game websites to you when all is said and done?

Final Fantasy IV Japanese site rolls out the updates

The Japanese website for Final Fantasy IV has updated with new goodies. First off, is an update to the character section, which describes a lot of the game's characters. There is also the download section, which has some sweet wallpapers available. Three of those wallpapers are of in-game characters, with the last new wallpaper available being one kickass piece of concept art. So, head on over and check the new stuff out.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days gets its tease on

Following its participation at Jump Festa, there isn't much of anything new to report on regarding the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days for the DS. That is, except that there is a new teaser site for the game. But, as with the game itself, there isn't anything new there ... yet. We're suggesting you get your bookmark on, as it's bound to be updated in the near future with juicy screens and tidbits of information.

Final Fantasy IV site expands

The official site for Final Fantasy IV has expanded from a sly tease into something bigger and better. A few character portraits are up, which juxtapose the in-game images with some of the artwork we found so eye-catching, as well as a few other tidbits. The "download" section isn't up yet, but we'll guess that eventually wallpapers will fill that space.

Jeux-France has also reconfirmed that the game will be playable at this month's Tokyo Game Show.

English-speaking gamers can hunt witches, too

At least, we hope that the new English version of the Doki Doki Majo Shinpan site means we might see it in this part of the world sometime in the distant future. Though the site still only lists a Japanese date, there are at least two translated versions -- Chinese and this rough new English site -- so we'll keep our eyes peeled for any signs of a non-Japanese release.

[Thanks, Ricardo!]

It's a wonderful site

The new site for It's a Wonderful World is up and running, and it really does suit the game's name. While the site is all in Japanese (and in a crazy font as well), there's still information that can be gleaned about Neku and Shiki's efforts to win Death's game from the site, and there's a lengthy trailer that shows off a lot of gameplay footage. We could tell you where it is, but that takes the fun out of clicking all the buttons and waiting for things to load!
