I'd definitely have to go with the Gameboy Micro. I know everybody hated it, but I loved having such a tiny, discrete gaming system with me.

Same here. Micro is great. All it's missing is GCN / GBA link cable functionality.

My favorite has to be the Gameboy Colour. The first handheld I ever got. Came with Pokemon Crystal, also.

I've been gaming since the Atari days, but my first handheld was the GB Micro. So it has a special place in my heart. That said, as soon as I got my DS I sold my Micro. The DS is better for playing GBA games simply because of the bigger screen. So the DS wins all around.

I own them all except the Micro. My favorite? My late generation SP with the brighter screen. You could stick those things in your pocket. Truly portable gaming. The DS is to big for that. I love my DS Lite, too.
Least favorite: The original GBA...Couldn't see anything on the screen!

The DS. I've also been playing since atari... and had at least one of each generation of nintendo handhelds... but the DS Classic has my favorite game system ever built inside (its actually the game boy advance classic.. many great games with such a sturdy hardware and smooth confortable controls) plus the DS games (Thanks Nintendo for retrocompatibility) and an also confortable control (oposite to DS lite one)

For me it's a death match between DS Phat and Gameboy.

The DS Lite used to be my favorite but I got a Micro recently for cheap and it's really contending for the top spot.

I used to play GB Pocket and later GB Color back in the day. Pokemon rocked then. But there's so much more to play on DS so I'd say DS.

I think I have to say the Micro as well. When it comes to something that's really REALLY portable. You can bring it anywhere. Plus I have so many GBA games and so many are great and worth replaying. I almost feel that I should buy another Micro now in case mine ever dies.

Love the picture...I have a GB, GBC, GBA, SP, and DS Phat, and while I want to pick the DS because it IS so awesome, I feel it more newness than anything.
The original GB is what got me back into gaming when I only had a NES for a long time (I missed the SNES era) and when it was kinda fading...even for its time, I still hold games like Mario Land 2, Kirby, Tetris Attack, Zelda, and of course Pokemon R/B and G/S to heart. I still play my Onyx SP too and love it to death b/c its design so it gets 2nd place.

I love my DS of course but having an interest in classic gaming, GBA (SP) is a little bit more versatile (will play GB and GB Color games). I also have a soft spot for my Pokemon Mini and intend to blog about it soon.

The DS, probably because it's what I'm currently playing. The plethora of games are awesome, backwards compatibility (although I never use it), the size of the carts (tiny enough to store lots in a small space). But the SP was a really nice handheld. When folded, it truly fit in your pocket. Plus, wasn't it the first Nintendo handheld to have a lit screen without having to purchase some funky add-on?

The DS. I've never had such a collection on a handheld (26 games at the moment), and the variety of genres and unique games on it are just great.

The DS Lite is my favorite because it plays DS as well as GBA games.

Whilst the Gameboy Colour really brought something into my gaming life with Pokémon and Super Mario Bros DX, and the GBASP was just a great design with the lit-up screen and great library of titles, I really do have to go with the DS.
I mean, tools like the number of flashcarts available make it a truly multimedia experience (and I'm not pirating my games here, but the soft reset, slowdown, save states, brightness settings, homebrew, music, video, pictures, text readers, geez, too useful.)
