Quickspot goes gold

NamcoBandai just sent us a press release stating that its game Quickspot has gone gold and is expected to meet its date with retail shelves in the U.S. on March 13th. For those unaware, Quickspot is a title where players must spot the differences between a pair of seemingly identical images. Time is of the essence, as players must not only have eyes as sharp as an eagle's, but be fast with the stylus as they mark the differences on the dual-screen handheld's touch-screen. The game is to release with a MSRP of $19.99 US.

Check past the post break for the press release, if you're into that sort of thing.

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE AS

QUICKSPOT™ GOES GOLD FOR THE NINTENDO DS

NAMCO BANDAI's Brain Teaser hits North America this March

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (March 5, 2007) – Leading video games publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today announced that its new brain teaser game, QuickSpot™, has gone gold for the Nintendo DS™ and will be available in stores throughout North America beginning March 13, 2007. Featuring six addicting and fun-to-play modes, QuickSpot challenges players to spot the differences between two seemingly identical pictures with creative use of the Nintendo DS™ touch screen and microphone.

"With simple gameplay at a frantic pace, Quickspot offers players an addictive experience that will appeal to all ages." said Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO at NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. "Whether you play individually or as part of a group, QuickSpot will test recognition and concentration skills to the extreme."

QuickSpot contains three challenging single player modes, the main mode being Rapid Play, which has five levels each containing 10 stages and a boss challenge at the end of each level. The player will be awarded medals for points they achieve based on their "Brain Activity". Brain Activity is based on Intuition, Concentration, Recognition, Stability, and Judgment. The higher the score in each area the more points earned by the player.

Other exciting single player modes include Focus play, which contains 140 unique pictures with 10 differences for the player to spot, and Today's Fortune, which gives the player their Health, Study, Romance, and Money fortune for the day.

QuickSpot also includes three multiplayer modes including Time Bomb, which requires up to eight players to pass one Nintendo DS™ back and forth between turns, Scramble Mode, and Download Play in which players can compete against each other on multiple Nintendo DS™ systems.

For more information on QuickSpot and all other exciting Namco Bandai Games' products, please visit NAMCO BANDAI Games' official website at www.namcobandaigames.com.

QuickSpot is rated "E10+" for Everyone 10 and over by the ESRB and has a suggested retail price of $19.99.

1. Wait, what? The game went gold and less than 10 days later it'll be in stores? That's quick (no pun intended).
