You got the Zelda Multi Screen!

Two years before he occupied the leading role in A Link to the Past, Link starred in the penultimate Game & Watch. Much of the gameplay will be recognizable to anyone with even a cursory understanding of Zelda games -- there are bosses, familiar enemies (the Stalfos, for example), and the Triforce and Princess Zelda also play a role. Yet despite Link's appearance in the series, there was no doubt that Game & Watch was on its way out by August 1989.

That same month, the Game Boy was launched across North America.
