And you are ...


Ironically enough, the first recognisable character (at the time, anyway) to feature in a Game & Watch wasn't Mario or Donkey Kong, but cartoon sailor Popeye. Non-Nintendo characters were surprisingly common in Game & Watch games, and it wasn't long before the success of Nintendo's games led to Mickey Mouse and Snoopy signing up for a game or three.
