Mario Party DS is headed our way next week, so it only seemed fitting that we give the crew a little time in the video spotlight. The opening video makes a nice complement to our positively enormous gallery below. And while we may be disappointed about the lack of
Wi-Fi support (really, is there a game that needs it
more?), we can settle for download play.

all i have to say is: lack of download play isn't disappointing, it's unacceptable.

It has download play, up to four people from one cart if I read correctly, it just doesn't have online play.

Mario Party is quite simply NOT a game that should be taken online. Party games are meant to be played with friends. Before this, the only good "party" game for the DS was Big Brain Academy, and you know what simply cannot be achieved through online?
Laughing your ass off at the Asian guy who falls last in all the math events.

But you know what *can* be achieved with online play?
Actually playing the game when you have no friends with a DS in a 50 mile radius.

I played that Japanese version for kicks at pink godzilla and they actually don't have an option for multicard download so there will always be load times (which actually was only 1 bigger load time with small 5 sec ones...pretty impressive). The full game is there though with single card download and play and that my friends.......is an impressive feat. It's fun!

Honestly does everything have to be online nowadays? I'm glad Nintendo is doing great same room 2P games like they always do.

I have pre-ordered Mario Party DS already; I can't wait for it. I think the coolest game so far is the one where you climb up the tunnel with a partner.
