The "right direction" being your nearest games emporium to pick up Contra 4. If you missed the perfect score we awarded to Konami's brilliant shooter earlier today, or just need a little more gentle encouragement, we'd advise watching these videos of the title in action. Both the first and second stages (the latter of which had this writer tied in knots for close to an hour) are featured here in their entirety, including the frankly nasty boss at the end of the Laboratory stage.
Take your ripped physique past the post break for a second video.

in the second movie (1st level.....) when you are walking in the water you can duck down and hide in it.....enemies and bullets can pass through you as long as you are hidden and the blue ski lift looking thing can be taken out.....then you can get in i and drive it and use its weapon.....totally awesome game........
continuing conversation from last contra post.....does anyone know exactly where to enter and what the konami code does on this game......
i have read it works but it was kind of vague........anyone know?

It's nice to see a perfect score for a 2-D game. It feels like 2-D games have a glass ceiling stopping them from ever getting above a 9.0 on any site.
I'm sick of reading reviews for games like this basically telling people not to play it because it'll be too hard for them, too. So many gamers grew up on super-hard Atari/NES games! Everything was hard back then, and reviewers weren't like "you won't have any fun because TOO HARD WAH CRY"
Contra does indeed kick your ass, and it's awesome to actually have to actively learn and have skill to beat a game again.

I don't have any friends that have this game, does anyone live in Columbus, OH that has this game and isn't a creep?

In Contra games you'll at least die because of your own stupidity and not because of a) lame camera movements, b) horrid controls c) jerky (slowdowns) graphics d) random bugs of todays games.

No, it's a flawed game with outdated game design in my opinion. Perfect score is absurd.

You're absurd, L ;)
Naw, I kid...but I do disagree, the fundamental design may be OLD, but it's certainly not outdated. There are a plethora of new additions and surprises which are refreshingly pleasant and overall the game is utterly perfect. I dig the difficulty, oh man!

This game is simply amazing. My only gripe with it? When you die and have to continue... you have to wait those 5 seconds for the music score to finish before you can select continue.
Cmon! I'm kicking ass! Let me kick some more, faster!
Other than that, the game is GREAT.
