Nintendo takes classic games to Wi-Fi

European Nintendo lovers (Nintendites?) get some pretty sweet perks. First they get their hands on a model DS Lite we Americans don't get, now this?! Dubbed 42 All-Time Classics, this Wi-Fi-enabled title seeks to bring all the classic card, board, and parlour games to the DS with added touchscreen controls.

Featuring games such as chess, draughts, darts, poker, backgammon, bridge, billiards and bowling, the game will also be releasing soon after in the US under the title Clubhouse Games. We'll also be getting the Wi-Fi functionality. So basically we're getting the same package, it's just that we're petty and can't let well enough alone sometimes.

42 All-Time Classics is set to release in Europe on September the 29th for around £20 and Clubhouse Games is set to release in the United States on October the 9th.

1. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm really excited for this game to come out. These are all the type of games that I wish they had more of on Xbox Live Arcade. Now we just need some video game versions of some good board games and bar trivia! (or any kind of trivia pursuit type game will do).

2. The first sentence of this article kind of pisses me off. Us europeans get screwed over by Nintendo, and other publishers, in more ways than you can imagine. For example, just about every game gets released weeks or months later, and their price is usualy about 20% or more higher.

The same can be said for hardware: we got the DS half a year after the US launch, and the DS Lite wasn't launched on the same day either. Also, that sweet black DS Lite costs 150 euros, whereas the Lite costs only 130 dollars in Amerika.

So please, stop saying such things when europe just happens to get something the US doesn't... first compare it to what you DO get.

3. I'm actually rather looking forward to Clubhouse Games. 42 games (what a number to pick... 42... Heheheh...), all wi-fi enabled UP TO EIGHT PLAYERS. Yes, they've finally broken the 4-player barrier for wi-fi!

5. Could b a fun pickup, but there's too many great games coming, so i might hold off on this for a while (unless i get one of those sudden rushes to buy a game, which im sure we all do)

6. Woohoo! I can't wait for this game.

and to agree with abe, yes: Europe gets screwed over by nintendo all the time. Good thing I live in canada, which has the same release dates as america.

7. Pardon my ignorance on the subject, but wouldn't it be fairly simple to buy this game online from the US and play it? Or does the DS have the same region crap that DVDs and other game consoles have?
