Phoenix Wright stock replenished August 10th

Look, we try not to judge anyone, but we honestly feel that if you don't own, or haven't at least played Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, then you do not deserve to work here. Pack up your desk, don't bother to finish out the week, it's over, we're through, goodbye. Wait...we can't fire you, can we? Well then, we're no longer BFF, so how about them apples?!

You can put a stop to this madness, however, by simply taking the opportunity to purchase Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney once it comes back to retail shelves. Amazon and Target are already taking preorders, so there's that option. Or you could set foot out into the deadly wilderness and brave the vast amounts of nature (see: grizzly bears) in order to procure a copy at your brick-and-mortar outlet of choice.

[Thanks Mitchel!]

1. I just got my DS Lite and i'm stocking up on all the great games I missed over the past year. I ordered Trauma Center from Overstock.com when it came back into stock this week and I just now pre-ordered Phoenix Wright from Amazon. My wife is going to kill me spending all this money on games.

2. I know what you mean...I can't seem to stop dishing out money on DS games and I'm still trying to save up for the Wii and PS3.

3. I knew this was being rereleased this month, but in B&M, now I need to go to EBgames to preorder this and StarFox Command. Games 19 and 20 in my DS Collection... I think I have a problem with buying DS games like the other commenters >_

4. The problem is that they're so affordable and there are so many good games for the DS. I should have bought a PSP, then I wouldn't be broke cause I wouldn't have any games to spend my money on.

5. make sure you keep us in the loop about any stores getting it in early, like with Trauma Center :) :) (thanks again, btw).

6. Trauma Center is also up for Pre-Order at Amazon. It's coming back in stock August 22.

7. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Phoenix Wright is BORING. It boils down to a game of reading comprehension. You read about 10 minutes of text on a tiny screen, then yell "Hold it!" when a testimony contradicts something you read. That's it. That's the game. Sometimes you "travel" around and read different things from different people or even present an item to someone so they'll give you more to read.

Obviously a lot of people like this game, but if you're the kind of person that skips cutscenes and hits "A" repeatedly to skip conversations and get to the real game...don't buy Phoenix Wright. That stuff you skip IS the game.

Someone mentioned Trauma Center. I got that in yesterday from Overstock. So far, I like it. It's not super robust and can be a little repetitive, but the story line is interesting and it does a good job of making you feel the intensity of a real surgery. Even Trauma Center has a bit more reading than I'd care for, but it's not too bad. :)

8. Wait... Is there any sign of this being brick-and-mortar? So far, it is only online. Also Phoenix Wright is in stock here: http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/NTR-P-AGYE.html . But can someone please tell me if this game will be seen on stores shelves such as Target, EB, or GS?

9. Bodie, in all honestly i'm usually NOT a fan of these types of games (Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center). But i've never tried them on the DS so I really want to know if i'll even like them. If I don't, i'll never buying any like them again for the DS or the Wii. But I just have to find out for myself, especially since they've gotten some good reviews.

Posted at 1:46PM on Aug 3rd 2006 by Loban 0 stars

10. Hey Bodie, different strokes for different folks. Phoenix Wright is the Saviour of my DS, personally. Animal Crossing is a boreing PoS, IMHO. You don't DO anything in that game.. there is no Goal, no purpose. You wander around and Dig, and fish.. if the game decides it's the right time. ANd if you like to play games at late night, prepare to reset your DS clock, cause Nook's store will always be closed.

It's all subjective, though. PW:AA may be alot of reading, but it's a great story with great characters, and adventure games are highly overlooked nowadays.

11. Not sure where Animal Crossing came up, but I'll have to agree..What a dull game. Pheonix Wright might not completely live up to the hype, but atleast it's more lasting than that overrated series.

12. Wow, seriously... I need to get this game. Even though I regularly don't purchase more than one game a month, Star Fox Command looks worthy to get, and I've been wanting to get my hands on this game for the longest time.

I've never actually played the DS "Phoenix Wright" game, but I was able to get my hands on a Japanese GBA phoenix wright 3 ROM and a patch that translated the first case into English. Once I played that game, I got addicted, and wow, this was one of the best games I've ever played. I can only imagine how the DS game plays, but now I'll actually have the chance.

I would highly recommend getting or at least trying out Phoenix Wright. On a side note, if you've ever watched the anime or read the manga "Monster" and liked it, you will like this game (or love it like me). On the other hand, if you like this game and like anime, go and watch "Monster" or get the manga because I think they've localized the manga.

13. @ John Bly, Reply #11
Animal Crossing overrated? I doubt it, I believe it deservews the good reviews it got, and in some points it is underrated. Also, More Lasting? I seriously doubt Phoenix Wright will last over three months like ACWW did.
@ Metayoshi
Your support, along with the rest of everyone, including the DSFanboy staff(constantly promoting this game) may make me end up buying it, as I was sure, then iffy, and now I want it again, I should just get it and hope for the best. I just hope this IS B&M.

14. I think I'll wait for newer game coming out next year, I have a Wii to save up for.

I'd rather have more features anyway.

But in the meantime...

StarFox
FFIII
Zelda PH

15. hmm... I could probably find out if the GS that I work at will have any in stock... I'll probably stop by today or tomorrow... so I'll let you guys know if we'll be getting a shipment.

Posted at 12:02PM on Aug 4th 2006 by Mitchel 0 stars

16. I wont be as harsh as 11 was but phoenix wright is much much better than animal crossing IMO. Not that ACWW wasnt a fun game but i was done with it in a few weeks. The online and graphics were still the best to come out of the ds so far.

17. if i had a ds, i would have phoenix wright. i was seriously considering buying a ds just for phoenix wright...it really is that good.
