Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass preview

The Legend of Zelda, like Pokemon, Final Fantasy or any other great series, will never grow old to gamers like us. No matter how much Zelda you shove down our throats, we will always take it with a smile.

The demo at Leipzig was the same as E3, but IGN felt the need to give us an update as if they feel the game is as hot as it was back in May. The answer -- of course it is you half wit! We kid, we kid.

The four available stages on the demo (boss fight, Field, Sea and Dungeon) are as impressive as ever. Though the new controls are a little tricky, we know that several gamers, new and old, will adjust.

We won't see Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass until 2007, but we are sure the wait is well worth it.

3. So when do we start to see magazines with these demos on the cover?

I think we need to get back to playable demos even for the DS or even start to see these demos made more readily available at the download kiosks.

Nintendo:
We need a site that lets us know whats being deployed to your download kiosks. They need to be online and readily updated by your team rather than waiting for a EB Games person to change the cartridge.

Give us something to enjoy rather than a few videos and screenshots!

4. Amiga_Tone: One of the features of the Wii is that it can shoot out demos of games, so maybe, just maybe, Nintendo will release monthly demos of games to come, ala Xbox Live Marketplace.

This way, you can... "have a taste of all that Zelda you want to shove down your throat... or more..."

5. I love how so many games get away with broken control schemes on the DS. How many more times will I hear "The cotrols are tricky, but player will adjust" what happened to the days where the controls were meant to feel natural and intuitive?

At least Non Nintendo made DS games are judged fairly, like Lost Magic and GoldenEye: Rogue Agent.

6. Duscrom,

Where'd that come from? The review said: "The brand new control scheme offers a unique experience in the series. It is really intuitive to guide Link around with the stylus and kill enemies by tapping on them. Even people who have never played any Zelda game ever will know what to do after a few minutes with the game."

I didn't see anything about, "The cotrols[sic] are tricky, but player[sic] will adjust."

7. Personally, I'm looking forward to this new control scheme and agree with Md's comment.

Controlling a 3D or non-grid based isometric game with a D-pad is clumsy, and generally a tie-over from oldschool days when analog sticks weren't available.

The stylus provides a precise and intuitive way to navigate and control a game - AC:WW would be tedious without it, especially for inventory management.

Can't wait for this game... I'm ashamed to say that I've never actually finished a Zelda game before. :(
