Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! sequel is a go

Nintendo confirmed that the popular rhythm-based game Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! will be released to a hungry Japanese public within the confines of this year. If the name is unfamiliar to you, that's probably because you know it as Elite Beat Agents, the English-localized version of the game. Nothing else more has been revealed about the game, but stay tuned to DS Fanboy for future updates as they come.

1. "Nintendo confirmed that the popular rhythm-based game Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! will be released to a hungry Japanese public within the confines of this year."

Wait, Ouendan is already out in Japan. Might wanna reword that.

2. It's not really accurate to say that Elite Beat Agents is an English localized version, given that it has a totally different track list, totally different levels, totally different art, and a number of gameplay elements that weren't in the original Ouendan. It's more like a sequel aimed at western markets.

3. Wow! A new Ouendan would keep my rhythm action juices flowing until a new Elite Beat Agents sees the light of day.

I'd love to see them using the microphone as part of the action. They could add sing/shout actions into the mix. I'm always game for embarrassing myself in pursuit of some gaming fun!

4. Now if they just sold a soundtrack CD for Ouendan or EBA...
