In a recent fan-based interview with the Atlus team at Siliconera, Luminous Arc was compared with the classic Final Fantasy Tactics. Atlus Editor Clayton Chan, who worked on both titles, said that they gameplay in Final Fantasy Tactics definitely wins, but the characters in Luminous Arc are hard to beat. That's high praise, considering not many games can stand next to FFT.
See for yourself, at least when it comes to screens, after the jump.

Looks like an Atlus-ized Fire Emblem/FFTA
Which is by no means a bad thing.

I'm somewhat anxious for this game. I wonder if it's developers had anything to do with Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis for the GBA. If you enjoy this type of game, be sure to look into that one...I thought it was quite good.

Since the comparisons are going to be made:
FFTA 2 has no wi-fi play, Luminous Arc does.
FFTA 2 has no stylus usage, Luminous Arc supports both right & left handed stylus AND the D-Pad.
FFTA 2's characters have no noses, Luminous Arc characters have MANLY BICEPS!
I'll probably buy FFTA 2, anyway, but I'm seriously more amped about Luminous Arc than I am about FFTA 2. (Especially since it apparently has Dr. McNinja references in it.)

What does Atlus Editor Clayton Chan mean by the "gameplay in Final Fantasy Tactics definitely wins"? Definitely? Man, I don't know now. I'm really looking forward to this game, I don't know that the fact that it gets absolutely demolished by FFT's gameplay is such a great thing.
