DS Daily: Consoles or handhelds?

We already asked you how much time, on average, you spend playing your DS. We're curious, though, as to whether you spend more time playing your favorite handheld (the DS, we hope) or your home gaming console of choice.

So, which is it? Does it depend on what games are out at the moment, or do you clearly favor one over the other?

I have PC - which is primary gaming system. I also have a Wii (which atm has WiiSports and Nintendo shitty franchises).

Needless to say I also have a DS and have to tell that time-wise I spend more time with DS than anything else.

One of the reasons that I commute lots right now and portability of DS + piles of games is unbeatable combo.

Probably if (finally) some games would be released for Wii (in PAL regions) or if there would be another outstanding PC FPS I would play more on PC/Wii. Yet I can hardly imaging that spare time I have would ever be longer than time I usually commute.

DS wins.

PC, PS2, DS, PSP, GC, Legacy stuff.
Don't have much of an interest in the Wii60 3 yet.

So, (old) "consoles".

I'm with Brello and Ihar. Most of my gaming takes place on the PC, followed by the DS and in a distant third is my dusty GC. I haven't bought in to the latest run of consoles yet (Wii availability and demand is just stupid, 360 has little to no appeal, and the PS3 is just pointless). So, my PC is my main source of gaming for now.

I have the 360, PS3, and Wii and I have a really nice computer set up for gaming...but I DEFINITELY play my DS more than all of them combined. I don't know what it is about the DS that I love so much more over the consoles. I just get so much more involved in the games on my DS than on the consoles. I will spend hours and hours on the DS (and not even on wifi) playing a game while I will play maybe a few minutes or something on a console.

I don't know what it is that makes the DS so much more interesting and fun but it certainly is !

I divide my time between the DS and my trusty old PS2 these days. Of course, I'm getting a Wii very soon, which will probably cut into the PS2 time quite a bit. Over the last year I've spent a bit more time playing on the DS, if only because that's where the games I've wanted to play have been.

I've got a PC,Wii,360 and DS but up until i lost my carry case which had all my games in (Q.Q) the DS was my prefered console. Wii would probably be second if, as Ihar said, Wii just doesn't have enough decent PAL releases yet, and I'm fed up of seeing Ninjabread man all over the rack when I can't even get myself a Wii Zapper because GAME didn't get more than 1 >.

I play on my DS almost exclusively. I had bought a PS2 for playing Guitar Heros, but with the small kids at home, these longer-to-setup games are just not being played. The DS, on the other hand, with its great sleep mode, allows me to play short whiles here and there during the day, as well as during the commute. So, even at home, my DS gets more love.

I got my DS the day after Thanksgiving and I haven't played my PS2 or PC games since. I play at least a few hours each day, some during my commute to work and some actually at work. The convenience and fun just can't be beat with the DS, and this is coming from a full-grown, working man.

I play on my DS at night while I am in bed. I play on my Wii and PS3 in the day. I used to have a 360 but it bored me shitless with all its FPS's.

Like others, I still haven't bought a next-gen system since all the "must-have" games for me are coming or are already out in the DS. I'll eventually get a Wii and 360 though.

That said, I play on the DS the most, but the PS2 and MAME are not far behind. The DS is simply amazing. I'd say it's probably my favorite system of all time replacing the SNES.

The dumbasses at [insert game store] consider handhelds as "consoles", so I'll just go along with it and say that I play my DS Lite more than my console, which is also a DS Lite. But wait, isn't that a paradox? That I play my DS Lite more than my DS Lite? D:

the DS is the only current-generation video-game-thingie I own, so I do the bulk of my gaming on that, and I occasionally play some sort of casual game on my PC.

The DS is my primary system now, since the PS2 has pretty much gone the way of the dodo...I'm playing Ace Attorney Justice for All, some Pearl and trying to get back into Trauma Center...for the PS2, I'm playing Shadow of the Collossus again with some GGXXAC.

I really don't have any interest in Wii60 3, but I have a LOT of DS games I want (Days of Ruin, Layton, Apollo, Gaiden).
