Hoshigami coming to DS

Strategy RPG's seem like a natural fit for stylus controls, which is one reason we're glad to see Hoshigami coming to the DS. Another reason is that we missed it back on the Playstation when it came out in 2001, and we want to try again to like SRPG's.* Maybe we'll like them better on a cool console?

It's somewhat more likely, since in addition to stylus control, the new Hoshigami has wireless item trading. Importers will be able to make their own decision on May 24th.

*It's ... a thing we do. We'll buy or rent a strategy game, and then just won't get it, return it, and try again a year later. We're going to look real hard at the screens after the break and think about whether we want to try again.

[Thanks, Steven!]

1. You got a link for this awesome news, or am I just gonna have to hope and pray it's for real?

3. By the way, it's posts like this that make your use of the 1st person plural (or is it "the royal 'we'"?) ridiculous. What's wrong with 'I'? Or does every author here share the same opinions?

4. oe: I asked the same thing awhile ago. The reply I got was that the guys in charge want them to speak that way for whatever reason. I agree, though, it's incredibly stupid. I thank god I don't have to talk like that when I post for Japanator.

Also, (you'd think the title of the sites would clue me in, but eh) I'm always bugged when you guys trash on other consoles. "Ooooh, now we'll play it because it's on a -cool- console!" Spare me.

5. The plural thing is weird, yes. It is the way it is.

And as for the console fanboyism, you HAD to see that as the most half-hearted and mild jab at the Playstation ever. Just like we all (and I mean "we") take on plural to indicate speaking as a collective, I also like to think we take on the "persona" of rabidly militant console fanboys. I have a Playstation. I love my Playstation. I really have tried to play SRPG's on it. Don't take it seriously.

Now, when I make fun of the N64, that's for real.

Also, Japanator is pretty neat.

6. Having played (or tried) the original, I have to wonder if they'll make it less horribly bad.

7. JC: Yeah, I know it's halfhearted, but it gets kind of grating sometimes. Even if it is just a persona. xD

Thanks for reading Jtor, too! Always nice to know we've got people that care. :3
