THQ announces a bunch of Nickelodeon stuff, for good reason

THQ has announced that their longtime Nickelodeon licensing agreement has resulted in $1 billion in sales and 50 million games sold. That goes a long way towards explaining why they think it's a good idea to release a game based on The Naked Brothers Band (though we would have preferred the Naked Brothers' producers' other show).

The press release went on to announce 5 more Nickelodeon-based projects. Many of the games are Wii/PS2/DS multiplatform, but Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants and Back at the Barnyard: Slop Bucket Games are DS-exclusive, and the DS is getting a different Tak game from the other platforms. Score. The new announcements include:
  • The Naked Brothers Band: The Videogame
  • Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants
  • Tak Mojo Mistake
  • SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom
  • Avatar - The Last Airbender: Into the Inferno

Avatar: The Dropping Price

Are you looking for a gift for someone about whom you know nothing except
  1. The person is a child, and
  2. He or she owns a Nintendo DS?
Also, are you not going to see this person until several days after Christmas? Then Amazon can help you out with a gift idea. They've got THQ's Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth, based on that one cartoon we saw one time when we were browsing our parents' awesome satellite channel lineup, for $14.99, a savings of 50%. It got middling reviews, but things always look better when they're cheaper. Those reviews do indicate that Avatar's a pretty good action game while it lasts. Joys be thine, maybe, after 8-10 shipping days!

DS releases for the week of October 15th

We're not ashamed to admit that we're somewhat excited about Hannah Montana: Music Jam. Oh, not because of Hannah herself or anything, but because this very random little title just looks like it could put Jam Sessions to shame. You thinking of at least renting it? It's okay to admit it. We won't tell. If not, there's plenty more to choose from this week:
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender -- The Burning Earth
  • The Bee Game
  • Disney Princess: Magical Jewels
  • Fish Tycoon
  • Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day
  • Fullmetal Alchemist: Trading Card Game
  • Hannah Montana: Music Jam
  • Power Rangers: Super Legends
  • Prism: Light the Way
  • Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure
  • Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
And for the GBA:
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender -- The Burning Earth
Check out the rest of the world's major markets after the jump.

DS releases for the week of October 9th

Nickelodeon's Avatar is everywhere, on both the DS and the GBA, in what is something of a slow week for releases. Not to fret, fanfolk ... the holiday glut will soon be here.

Any of these happen to tickle your gaming fancy? We're calling Clubhouse Games (yay for chat features) the interesting title of the week, but whatever you want, we want to hear about it.

DS:

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • Clubhouse Games
  • Crash Boom Bang!
  • Monster Bomber
  • Scooby-Doo! Who's Watching Who?

GBA:

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • Justice League Heroes: The Flash
  • Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning
  • Noddy: A Day in Toyland
As always, availability is subject to manufacturer delivery.
