you can even see how the photo is pixelated around the mario sprite but it isnt around the other graffiti. pff :P

you can tell the sprite is photochopped and is surrounded by reality

They're not fake, they're stickers. If you look at them big you can see the wrinkles and some are ripped. The color around them are weird because they must have wiped the area down to get them to stick.
